McLellan Family Shoot

September 10, 2012  •  2 Comments

Oh, this one is such a joy for me to write.  I had the opportunity to photograph the McLellan Family a few weeks ago at their home in Arvada and out and about in Historic Downtown Arvada.  What a joy!  I was first introduced to Jen McLellan through a mutual friend who felt like we might connect and be able to help promote each others work.  Jen is the fantastic mind behind Plus Size Birth and Plus Size Mommy Memoirs.  We hit it off over email and I had the privilege of photographing her and some wonderful women in the birthing community in my first group boudoir shoot.  From the moment I met her, I could tell that she was a rare gem of a person.  Jen has grown to be a wonderful friend of mine.  She is strong and smart, kind and thoughtful, and takes the time to champion others in a way that is so genuine.  I am so grateful that I have had the chance to get to know her and look forward to many years of friendship.

I have spent a little time with little B, Jen's son, in the past.  Each time, he grows more comfortable with me and I get to see the exuberant spirit he possesses.  He is such a character and lets out these short bursts of laughter when he is amused that just have me in fits of giggles.  Chris, Jen's husband, is wonderful.  You can tell he adores Jen and B so much and I am excited to get to know him even better.  I know we will get along as anyone who has a red anniversary edition Mario Wii is bound to be my friend.

Kathryn,

Thank you so much! That is one of the kindest things anyone has said to me as a photographer. I really appreciate it and am so grateful to know your family. It's clear that the loving nature of your daughter and grandson is a result of two fantastic parents.

Looking forward to the next time :)

Best,

Grace

I met Grace for the first time the day she came to do the photo shoot she blogs about above. I had heard wonderful things about her from my daughter, Jen, but I truly wasn't prepared for seeing her in action. Compared to other photographers I have experienced in the past, Grace stands out as someone who truly connects with her clients and the end result are photos that truly capture not only a moment in time but also her photos capture the feelings that were felt in that moment in time which make them all the more priceless to those of us who will cherish them forever.

Grace, I look forward to the next time we come to Arvada to visit our family and hope that we have another opportunity to see the magic of you in action as not only a talented, patient photographer but also as the warm, loving, and fun woman that you are.

Best wishes for continued success in your practice as a photographer. Those who hire you will certainly be happy with your unique talent and abilities.
